GENERAL INFORMATION:

Adhesive Bonding: TPX film can be bonded using LOCTITE© brands Prism 401 and Prism 405 cyanoacrylate adhesives or BONDiT® B45 TH epoxy system.

Welding:  TPX film can be ultrasonically welded using Branson Model 8700 at 1500 watts. Welding time is 45 seconds, holding time is 1 second, pressure is 85 psi using silver booster and a mesh shape horn (female type). It is possible to ultrasonically weld TPX film to itself using a primer of cyclohexane in combination with epoxy and urethane.

Thermoforming:  Forming temperatures range between 248°F and 428°F. The forming temperature will depend on thickness of sheet and design of final products. Film can be form on newer conventional vacuum-forming equipment. Thicker film should be preheated for 2-3 minutes at 392°F, and then formed.

Permeability To Gases: Moisture permeability and gas permeability values of TPX film are higher than those of other materials.

Light Transmittance: Transparent grades of TPX film are colorless and have visible light transmission of 90% which is comparable to that of polystyrene and polymethyl methacrylate
