When you need a super-tough, strong, abrasion-and-wear resistant material with high temperature, PURITY and chemical resistance, PEEK is the material of choice. PEEK Tape does it all! It's the top-of-the-line in high performance tapes. The pressure sensitive adhesive backing allows you to position and hold PEEK in place. PEEK has high hydrolytic stability and low liquid absorption. PEEK is a FULLY-crystalline thermoplastic. PEEK's characteristics include high temperature performance, excellent wear properties, superior chemical resistance, purity, hydrolytic stability and outstanding toughness and strength. It is an excellent linear bearing material as well as an outstanding high performance PSA product. PEEK meets many aerospace, automotive, fire, smoke and toxicity, food/water, medical/pharmaceutical, and military approvals and standards. The following physical property information is based on typical values of the base PEEK resin as well as results obtained from actual testing. PEEK Tape is available with a High Temperature Silicone Adhesive or High Tact Acrylic Adhesive.
Product Description:Extruded, virgin PEEK (polyethetherketone) film has been surface modified on one side and coated with an Acrylic or High Temperature Silicone adhesive. The acrylic adhesive is resistant to high humidity and harsh chemical environments while retaining good peel strength with clean removal. Silicone Adhesive has low residue upon removal and withstands temperatures from -100F to +400F.
The surface modification enhances bond strength to other materials. Peel-off liner is applied to the adhesive side. The untreated side is lubricious, abrasion resistant, and free of pin holes. Series #37-_A (Acrylic) or 37-_S (Silicone) Performance & Application Information: This tape has the best combination of friction and wear properties combined with high heat resistance (350F with Acrylic Adhesive; 400F with Silicone Adhesive), chemical resistance and electrical insulation. Tapes can be used on many different hard mating surfaces such as steel, ceramic or glass. Typical applications for the tape include sliding bearings, abrasion resistant wire wraps and oil field equipment requiring abrasion resistance and electrical insulation.
